BELGIUM – Are you heading to Bruce Springsteen (2/7) or Rock Werchter (4/7 – 7/7)? Drop your cup in one of the ‘gitterboxes’ and support Join For Water!

Hey festival hero!  Enjoying Bruce Springsteen or having a blast at Rock Werchter? It’s great to forget all your worries and enjoy the summer! Fantastic!

But, do you ever think about all the waste? What do you do with those empty cups at the end of the day? Don’t throw them away because they are invaluable!

Drop your cup in one of the ‘gitterboxes’ you’ll find all around the festival grounds and contribute to a sustainable world. By doing this, you support Join For Water. Our organisation has been advocating for the right to water for people and nature for over 47 years, both today and tomorrow.

Live Nation, the powerhouse behind Rock Werchter, is committed to sustainable water management and therefore supports two fantastic Join For Water projects: a local project called Waterwijs Werchter and a project in the Andes (Ecuador and Peru). Join For Water is incredibly grateful to Live Nation for this partnership and their contribution to our projects. You can also make a difference together with us!

Local: ‘Waterwise Werchter’

In our local project ‘Waterwijs Werchter’, we collaborate with the municipalities of Tremelo and Rotselaar and the Regional Landscape Noord-Hageland to make the beautiful Dijle river and its surroundings, including the Rock Werchter festival grounds, accessible. Hop in a canoe in 2025 for a beautiful trip in nature. Along the way, you will pass informative panels that tell you all about the importance of clean water and local biodiversity. During your trip, you also help to remove waste from the Dijle river and measure water quality.
An adventure with impact!

Andes: Protection of the Mayo-Chinchipe

Far from home, in the Mayo-Chinchipe river basin, a source river of the Amazon on the border between Ecuador and Peru, we protect 500 hectares of nature to ensure water quality and quantity and increase CO2 storage. We modernise drinking water infrastructure and empower communities. This way, people in this area can get drinking water closer to home and learn to cope with climate change. Together with local committees and organisations, we look at what activities are needed and how we are going to approach all this.
