During World Water Week in Stockholm, African Water Ministers and several ngo’s launched a proposal for a ‘Marshall Plan for Water in Africa’ for the next decade, to guarantee all Africans have clean water and safe sanitation in 2030.
Uganda Water and Environment week was preceded by regional awareness raising events. Protos (Join For Water) took the lead for the Mpanga Event, a successful event bringing several stakeholders together.
On 22nd and 23rd of May 2018, Join For Water Great Lakes, as lead organization for the Belgian Non-Governmental Agencies (BNGAs), organized, together with the Belgian Embassy and Enabel, a 2 days fundamentals training on Financial Risk Management and Fraud Mitigation for all Belgian actors and their partners in Uganda.
Together with our partners, we work on drinking water, sanitation and water for agriculture for around 100,000 people each year. Moreover, Join For Water interventions on water today are levers of sustainable social, economic and structural changes.
In Uganda, Join For Water and its local partners developed a participatory monitoring & planning tool for adaptation to climate and environmental change, resulting in an introductory brochure, an extensive manual for facilitators, and a short documentary.
